What do members get from participation in NWAPH?

Peer Support

  • Sharing local issues and those at national level. Finding out what’s happening in other LAs.
  • This group is great. We never feel we get a voice to talk to others about what needs to happen.
  • Interesting to hear other areas are in the same boat as you. Information is phenomenal. Headteachers can be in a bubble.
  • Nice to see how others are addressing issues. Getting solutions and not just focusing on what’s wrong. LA is at bottom of league tables so it’s nice to see it’s not just us facing the same difficulties.
  • Enjoy meeting people.

Making a Difference

  • The momentum at moment and the drive to move forward and make a difference.
  • Initially, we shared issues but then we met with Alastair Campbell and changed our focus to engagement. That was the catalyst for the momentum.
  • NWAPH wants to stay ahead of the game and create an assembly to take solutions to the government etc. Headteacher retention is an important focus.
  • Reflecting on discussions around issues such as SEND.
  • Getting our voice out there is great as is knowing what’s going on in the northwest. Seeing how we’ve evolved and getting our voice heard. Talking to the right people and finding a way to people.
  • NWAPH is on the verge of greater things.
