About

Why we exist

We are a non-political organisation with a simple ambition at our heart; to ensure we are doing the best we possibly can for all our children. In order to do this, we seek assurances, support and communication from all those who can affect this at a local and national level. Since its inception in May 2015, NWAPH has secured links with influential partners across the northwest, including LCR, GMCA and FED Education.

The Purpose of the Association is to achieve the best possible education for Primary children by ensuring that the needs and entitlements of those children is secured.

Why we exist

Advocating for Education

Our Focus on Levelling Up and Inclusive Policies

Our Association’s objective for the current year is to raise awareness of key primary school issues with local leaders as well as the Department for Education to support the Levelling Up agenda. In particular, the recruitment and retention of school leaders and support for SEND children. We seek solutions to these issues through the sharing of practice and dialogue with key stakeholders.

We welcome the government’s Levelling Up White Paper and Build Back Better campaign to create an inclusive economy that doesn’t leave the north behind by closing the education and skills gap. The Northwest Association of Primary Headteachers would like to ensure the voice of education from the northwest is included in that dialogue.
