Peter Hudson

Chair

Peter thoroughly enjoyed thirty-nine years of teaching experience in the primary sector; thirty years at senior leadership level, including twenty-three as a highly effective headteacher of a complex primary school. He has extensive experience of working & supporting the local authority, as well as supporting a network of schools across the LA & across other local authorities. Following a secondment working with Bury LA, focusing on the inclusion agenda, he has now left headship having successfully led school through six Ofsted inspections which were consistently graded ‘Good’ in all areas, & outstanding in many.

Peter is determined to use his knowledge & expertise of primary education & leadership to help support future educational developments. He passionately believes we can help forge a better future for our children & young people if we work together.

He has represented Bury Head teachers at NWAPH for the past 9 years & has chaired the association since September 2019. Since the association has grown & its’ influence spread, Peter is now the independent chair of NWAPH working with a wide number of organisations (including LCR, GMCA, The FED, Evaluate Ed, Edstart, Bright leaders UK & The Talk). He works to ensure the voice & views of NWAPH are both included & affect the future developments of these organisations.

As a consultant he offers support in a range of areas & has particular expertise in leadership & management; inclusion, SEND & pathways to alternative provision; behaviour & attitudes, personal development & attendance.
